The Hatbox Ghost is a character from the Haunted Mansion ride at the Disney Parks. He is a character in the Haunted Mansion Playset and comes in the pack.
Appearance[]
The Hatbox Ghost is a hunched over skeltal figure with a cloak and top hat. He has long white hair. He holds a hatbox in his left hand and a cane in his right hand.
Abilities[]
The Hatbox Ghost's default tool ability is to do a combo-attack with his hatbox. His default pack ability is to use a scare attack, similar to Sulley, Mike, Randall, and Jack Skellington. When he jumps and scares, several pop-up heads will appear out of the ground and scare foes as well.

The Haunted Mansion[]
The Hatbox Ghost was in the Haunted Mansion ride for a few weeks after opening day, but was removed due to the lighting gimmick not working right. It was confirmed that he will be returning to the ride, but just when was currently a mystery.
A prototype of the Hatbox Ghost animatronic was built and shown at the D23 Expo in 2013. It was unknown if it would be added to the ride or not.
Disney teased this by putting the Hatbox Ghost on much of their merchandise for the Haunted Mansion's 45th anniversary, and finally confirmed in late April that the Hatbox Ghost was indeed coming back to the attraction. On May 9th, following a week-long closure, the Mansion reopened with an updated Hatbox Ghost figure in the spot where the "mystery wall" had been, using a combination of sophisticated video projection and old-fashioned stage magic to create the illusion of the ghost's vanishing head.
